The Elden

How it all started

The Elden story started with a dream to build a community for the new generation of elders. The world is quickly changing and our elders have changed as well. More informed, more engaged and more active, they are changing our perspective on aging. It is time that we respect the fact that our elder population is doing things differently, doing things their way. So we are doing things differently as well. It’s not about treating you as an elder, but simply as a person who has things to do, places to go and a life to live. As a smaller, privately owned company, we have the flexibility to adapt as our community grows.

What does that mean?

It started with our approach to creating The Elden. We asked you what you wanted it to be, and will continue to do so now that we are open. We’re taking on the challenge to be more innovative and more creative in our thinking. With every person that moves into The Elden, new pieces will be added to the puzzle – new ideas, new desires, new interests. “The Elden Experiment” will forever be ongoing. Can we do everything for everyone? Of course not. But we’re going to try.

One New Community that is part of another

The Elden is a fantastic community unto itself, but is also be a proud member of the Bradford West-Gwillimbury community. Where possible, we source locally and support community businesses. We get involved, we help out. After all, we’re a local independent business too.

The Fine Print

The Elden of Bradford, despite being different in every way possible, still covers all of the health, safety and security concerns that anyone moving into a retirement residence will have. Three meals, balanced nutrition, emergency response system, nursing on-site, doctor visits, medication administration, front desk concierge, 24 hr staffing with door monitoring, bathrooms designed with grab bars and pull cords, safety pendants (if you want to use them), accessible washrooms when required, full fire alarm system with 24 hour monitoring. We have all of that. We promise. We don’t make a big deal of it because… well, it’s boring. Important, but boring.
